Sofascore Product Management Academy: A New Chapter in Sofascore Academy

The world of digital product development is evolving rapidly, and at the middle of every successful tech company stands a product manager – a strategist who bridges the gap between user needs, business goals, and technical workability. Recognizing the growing demand for skilled professionals in this field, we are proud to introduce a new track within Sofascore Academy: the Product Management Academy.

This specialized track is designed for individuals with prior work experience who are looking to transition into product management. Despite its crucial role in the tech industry, product management has often been overlooked, and there remains a shortage of trained professionals in the field. Through seven carefully structured lectures leading up to June, we aim to fill this gap by sharing Sofascore’s in-house expertise – expertise that has played a key role in developing a platform serving more than 28 million monthly active users.

Why Product Management Matters

Sofascore’s Chief Strategy Officer, Ivan Bešlić, describes product management as “the profession of the future, resilient to robots and AI.” While artificial intelligence is transforming many industries, product managers remain essential because they are responsible for aligning user needs, design, and development.

“The market will soon be flooded with AI models capable of writing code, but someone will need to manage those models, define specifications, and coordinate real developers. That’s where product managers step in, ensuring that user insights translate into well-designed and functional digital products.”

Ivan Bešlić, Sofascore’s Chief Strategy Officer

Unlike many other IT roles, product management does not require a technical background. While a tech-savvy mindset is beneficial, some of the most successful product managers come from fields like linguistics, project management, and business analysis – roles that require strong coordination skills and attention to detail.
