Sofascore Nominated for Two Prestigious Awards

Sofascore has been shortlisted for two major honors at this year’s Dani komunikacija festival, confirming the platform’s creative and strategic impact beyond the pitch.

Finalist – MIXX Awards Croatia 2025

Our entry “Always-on social” is among the finalists in the Best Social category at the MIXX Awards Croatia 2025 – the award that celebrate the best digital marketing projects in the country.

The campaign shows Sofascore’s unique way of turning raw data into engaging football storytelling. Through always-on stats, real-time reactions, and collaborations with players and fans, the campaign highlighted what makes Sofascore more than just a score app — it’s a living part of football culture.

From Champions League performances to Valentine’s Day-themes, the creativity stayed consistent — and consistently data-driven. Add to that real interactions with footballers, viral fan tattoos, and smart reactions to industry trends, and it’s clear why this campaign earned a spot among the best.

Finalist – BalCannes 2025: Rebranding Category

Sofascore’s project “The Field of Dreams: The redesigned Player of the Season award” has been selected as a finalist in the Design Mosaic: Rebranding category at BalCannes 2025 – a category that honors outstanding brand repositioning and identity transformation.

Sofascore Nominated for Two Prestigious Awards, BalCannes

Since 2021, Sofascore has recognized the top-rated players from each league with the Player of the Season award — a trophy based entirely on data, celebrating consistency, performance, and excellence. But in 2024, we gave this trophy a new layer of meaning — transforming it from a symbol of achievement into a symbol of origin.

To reflect the journey every player takes from a dusty local pitch to global stadiums, we literally built our new trophy from the ground up. We partnered with Zico, the legendary Brazilian footballer and mentor to new generations, and renovated a pitch at his youth academy in Rio de Janeiro. Pieces of that revitalized field were embedded into each trophy, reminding players and fans alike where dreams truly begin. You can read about that here.

Zico, Player of the Season trophy

This powerful message was first unveiled at the 2024 Sunset Sports Festival, event that brings together sports, creativity, and innovation. The story was revealed live on stage to an audience of industry leaders, athletes, and media. The response was overwhelming.

Each of the 48 trophies, representing 48 leagues, forms a single football pitch when placed together — the Field of Dreams. It’s more than a rebranding project. It’s a storytelling platform. A purpose-driven redesign. A trophy with soul.

Looking ahead, the Field of Dreams will return with even greater impact. At the 2025 Sunset Sports Festival, Sofascore plans to expand the award ceremony into a full-scale celebration of data-driven performance. We’ll gather winners, partners, and global football figures to honor excellence — not just in numbers, but in narrative. Sofacore’s co-founder and CSO Ivan Bešlić already announced a part of Sofascore’s plans at recent Money Motion event.

This rebranding is a blueprint for how sports platforms can bridge data, design, and deeper meaning. It’s not just a trophy — it’s a legacy, creating a strong emotional link between local football roots and global player recognition.

From Numbers to Narratives

These two nominations reflect Sofascore’s evolution from a platform known for precise stats to a brand that shapes stories, emotions, and experiences around the game. Whether it’s a data-fueled social campaign or a trophy made from real grassroots pitches, each project shows how numbers can tell powerful human stories — and how Sofascore continues to raise the bar for innovation in sports communication.
